NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Although Louisiana’s voting split along racial lines, seven in 10 voters said race was either a minor issue or had nothing to do with their choice on Tuesday. Louisiana gave its nine electoral votes to Republican John McCain. Race is “the last thing to be thinking about when you’re going to vote for president,” said Robert “Bobby” Ramirez, 33, who described himself as liberal and white with some Hispanic background. He said he supported Democrat Barack Obama before his election to the U.S. Senate.
