PARIS (AP) — Inspired by Barack Obama, the French first lady and other leading figures say it’s high time for France to stamp out racism and shake up a white political and social elite that smacks of colonial times. A manifesto published Sunday — subtitled “Oui, nous pouvons!”, the French translation of Obama’s campaign slogan “Yes, we can!” — urges affirmative action-like policies and other steps to turn French ideals of equality into reality for millions of blacks, Arabs and other alienated minorities. “Our prejudices are insidious,” Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, a singer and wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy, said in an interview with the Journal du Dimanche newspaper.

blahblahblahblahYet again the anti-tolerance movement is out in full force. Do you honestly think Islam is the only religion that preaches hate, violence, intolerance and misogyny? You obviously haven't been in Free Speech Alley on a Tuesday recently...All religions have hateful, cult-like, WRONG sects, but that does not mean they represent the whole. And Christians can certainly be terrorists as well, perhaps you have heard of the KKK, the White League, or maybe Timothy McVeigh?? All of those people claim(ed) to be Christian. Though I hope you would not agree that their actions are in the model of Jesus Christ. Open your eyes and realize that just because there are some people who use religion inappropriately it does not mean that the entire religion is defunct.And just as a side note, if all of Islam was a war mongering hate machine, the followers probably would have taken over by now seeing as they have 2 billion people on their side. I think you need to be a little more logical.
