A few members of the LSU track and field team competed in “last chance” meets this weekend in order to qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championship on March 8-9 in Arkansas.
At Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational:
Senior Laura Carleton – eighth in the 5,000 meter run
Freshman Nethaneel Mitchell-Black – fifth in the 200-meter dash
Freshman Cyril Grayson, freshman Darrell Bush and senior Caleb Williams –22nd, 23rd and 24th, respectively, in the 400 meter run
Quincy Downing – 13th in the 800-meter run
At LSU’s NCAA Indoor Qualifier:
Junior Keri Emanuel – first in the women’s long jump with a jump of 20 feet, a 1 ¾ inches
Sophomore Tori Bliss – fourth in the women’s shot put
Freshman Fitzroy Dunkley – first in the men’s long jump
The NCAA announces the official qualifiers for the championship meet on Monday evening.
