Three Lady Tigers garnered All-Southeastern Conference honors, the league announced Tuesday.
Junior forward Theresa Plaisance was named to the All-SEC first team in addition to earning All-Defensive team honors. Plaisance finished the season as the SEC’s leading blocker, averaging 2.8 per game, and the league’s second leading scorer, with 17.6 points per game.
Plaisance’s 510 total points this season left her four shy of Tennessee junior guard Meighan Simmons for the SEC scoring title. She also averaged 8.2 rebounds per contest and tallied 36 steals.
Senior guard Adrienne Webb was named second-team All-SEC after shooting just under 43 percent from the field for 13.9 points per game.
“Webb [was] able to knock down shots and finish plays with huge add-ons,” said LSU coach Nikki Caldwell.
Freshman guard Danielle Ballard joined Plaisance on the All-Defensive team, and also appeared on the All-Freshman team. Ballard led the SEC in steals this season with 3.1 per game.
Ballard earned five SEC Freshman of the Week awards, more than any other Tiger in the program’s history or any player in the conference this season. She averaged 12.6 six points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
“What [Ballard] means to our team is unmeasurable because she does so many great things for us,” Caldwell said. “She’s a player that not only can get those steals, but her rebounding as a point guard is pretty impressive.”
