LSU freshman golfer Zach Wright posted a career-low 6-under par 66 in round one of the Louisiana Classics on Monday and followed it with an even-par 72 to take the top spot by three shots at the Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.
LSU sophomore Stewart Jolly finished the day tied for 15th place after rounds of 1-under 71 and 3-over 75 gave the Tigers two golfers in the top 15.
No. 14 LSU finished the day in a tie for sixth place with a two-round total of 16-over par 592.
The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CT at holes 7-10 in a group with Houston and Louisiana-Lafayette
