The LSU gymnastics team received a No. 2 seed in the Columbus, Ohio regional of the NCAA Tournament as announced by the NCAA on Monday.
The Tigers (15-6, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) will compete against UCLA, Arizona, Ohio State, Central Michigan and North Carolina State on April 6. LSU defeated N.C. State in both the opening and closing meets of the season.
“It doesn’t matter where we go, it matters what we do when we get there,” said LSU coach D-D Breaux to her gymnasts moments after the selections were released.
LSU will have two weeks to prepare for the meet following its third-place finish at the SEC Championship behind Florida and Alabama, which both claimed No. 1 seeds at other regionals. The Tigers tallied their highest score of the season and third-highest score in program history with their 197.700 at conference championships last Saturday.
