The LSU women’s golf team finished third with a score of 48-over 912 behind the eighth-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks (21-over 309) and Tulane (45-over 909) at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic Sunday at the University Club.
LSU golfer Madelene Sagstrom tied for second at 5-over par 22 which is the second straight tournament she has tied for second. She also led the tournament with 13 birdies over three rounds.
Top LSU performers included Elise Bradley (76), Ali Lucas (80), and Nadine Dreher (81).
The wind offered a new kind of obstacle but LSU coach Karen Bahnsen believes it could be helpful down the line when the Tigers head to the SEC’s and NCAA’s.
“The more times they are there it is going to make them stronger,” said Bahnsen in a news release. “They are disappointed they didn’t do what they wanted to do but at the same token I’m proud of them.”
The women’s golf team will conclude their spring season April 5-7 at the Rebel Intercollegiate at Ole Miss.
