No. 5 LSU scored a 197.325 to capture second place at Semifinal I of the NCAA Championships and will move on to the Super Six Finals for just the third time in school history.
No. 1 Florida won the meet with a 197.775 and No. 4 Georgia came in third with a 197.150. The Southeastern Conference trio will take on the top three finishers from this evening’s Semifinal II in the finals at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
The Tigers tallied a 49.000 on beam, a 49.350 on floor and a 49.500 on vault before closing the competition with a season-high 49.475 on bars.
Sophomore all-arounder Rheagan Courville won the vault title with a 9.950 and tied for the floor title with a 9.900, while junior all-arounder Sarie Morrison tied for the bars crown with a 9.950. Courville, the SEC and Central Region Gymnast of the Year, scored a 39.575 in the all-around, good for second place.
