Illegally Blonde: Reese Witherspoon Arrested
Actress Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were arrested early last Friday morning for allegedly driving under the influence and disorderly conduct in Atlanta, Georgia.
The police report, obtained by Variety, states that the couple was pulled over after the driver (Jim Toth) was weaving into oncoming traffic. Toth was then placed under arrest after failing a sobriety test.
Adding fuel to the fire, Witherspoon then became agitated with the cop and made sure he knew it. On the list of what Reese reportedly did and said leading up to her arrest: hanging out of the car window to tell the policeman that she “didn’t believe he was a real police officer”, exiting the car after being told not to, stating that she “is a U.S citizen” and is allowed to “stand on American ground,” resisting as the officer grabbed her arms to arrest her, and asking “Do you know my name?” while being arrested.
The couple was released later that same morning on bond and a court appearance is scheduled for May 22nd.
Earlier this week, the actress released a statement through her publicist which said, “I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”

Amy Winehouse’s Dad Not a Fan of Beyoncé’s “Back to Black” Cover
The internet was all abuzz about Beyoncé’s latest musical venture this week when a snippet of her cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” was released via SoundCloud on Monday. The track, which features rapper Andre 3000, was recorded for the soundtrack of the upcoming film, “The Great Gatsby.” Although many people are anxiously waiting for the full version to be released, Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitchell Winehouse isn’t one of them.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Winehouse stated that no one from “The Great Gatsby” reached out to him for permission to use the song. He said that Beyoncé’s version “doesn’t bring anything” to his daughter’s original version. Winehouse also added, “They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing. I can’t tell you how much it is but it’s a lot of money.”
The full version of the track hasn’t been released yet, but we’ll all get to judge for ourselves when the soundtrack is released on May 7th. The Jay-Z produced soundtrack also features songs by the rapper himself, Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey, and more.
