Kenneth Miles, assistant vice chancellor and executive director of the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, will take on the extra role of Interim Vice Provost for Equity, Diversity and Community Outreach, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Stuart Bell announced in a news release Wednesday morning.

Miles will fill the interim position while a search committee finds a permanent replacement for Katrice Albert, who announced in December she would step down to accept a similar job at the University of Missouri.

“We are fortunate that Kenneth has agreed to step into this position until a search is completed for a permanent director of that unit,” Bell said in the news release.

Miles has been serving the University in his role at the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes since 2008.

He previously held multiple positions at the University of Virginia and Syracuse University.
