Arkansas takes a 17-14 lead against LSU into halftime behind senior kicker Zach Hocker’s 20-yard field goal as time expired.
The Razorbacks half-ending drive was set up by Tiger senior quarterback Zach Mettenberger’s fumble near the LSU 30-yard line, recovered by Arkansas’ Brandon Lewis.
Before the fumble, LSU was driving after sophomore cornerback Jalen Mills intercepted Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen’s pass in the end zone.
The first half of Friday afternoon’s contest was highlighted by the Razorback’s owning of total yards and time of possession.
Arkansas tied the score at 14 with six minutes second quarter by way of an 8 play, 86 yard drive capped off by a Hunter Henry touchdown reception.
Junior running back Terrance Magee led LSU as he rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, including a 29-yard scamper on the Tigers first drive of the game.
Mettenberger only completed 50 percent of his passes for 67 yards in the first half. With seven passing yards in the second half Mettenberger can become the third player in LSU history to throw for at least 3,000 yards in a season.
LSU will receive the ball first as the Tigers won the opening coin flip and differed possession to the second half.
