LSU freshman forward Jordan Mickey received Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.
Mickey kicked off his college career with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in the Tigers’ 92-90 loss at Massachusetts on Nov. 12.
Mickey stuffed the stat sheet once again during LSU’s 88-74 victory against Northwestern State on Nov. 16. He racked up 10 points, 13 rebounds, six blocks and three assists against the Demons.
The freshman posted double-doubles in both contests while averaging 34 minutes per game. Mickey is the first LSU freshman to take home the weekly accolade since forward Storm Warren earned the award on Nov. 24, 2009.
