In recognition of Veterans Day, the University will observe a moment of silence at 1 p.m. today in honor of those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, followed by the reading of the names of service members from Louisiana who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The event will be held at the War Memorial on the LSU Parade Ground as part of the Remembrance Day National Roll Call project, according to a University news release.
According to its website, the Remembrance Day National Roll Call project spans across many college and university campuses with the goal of making Veterans Day a special time of reflection and appreciation. All participating campuses will observe a moment of silence simultaneously at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time.
