LSU takes a 21-10 lead into halftime over Texas A&M.
The Tigers’ defense has been the story of the game so far, limiting the high-powered Texas A&M offense to only 198 yards in the first half. Texas A&M sophomore quarterback Johnny Manziel finished the half having completed only 36 percent of his passes.
Texas A&M was finally able to open its offense up on its last drive of the half, with Manziel hitting senior wide receiver Derel Walker for a 51-yard touchdown.
The Aggies drove down to the Tigers’ 3-yard line, but decided to go for it and were turned away. On the ensuing LSU drive, the Tigers extended their lead to 21-3 after a drive that spanned the length of the field, which was capped by a 40-yard touchdown reception by junior wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
LSU was led on offense by Landry, who brought down two touchdown passes from junior quarterback Zach Mettenbeger.
Junior running back Terrence Magee opened the scoring for the Tigers, plunging into the end zone from 1-yard out. Magee set up the touchdown with a 65-yard run on the drive.
