Lead “50 Shades of Grey” Actor Drops Out Of Movie
Sorry Charlie Hunnam fans, but your favorite actor will no longer be playing the sex-crazed Christian Grey in the “50 Shades of Grey” film.
Universal studios released the following statement earlier this week:
“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey.”
The TV schedule they’re referring to is Hunnam’s day job on the show “Sons of Anarchy,” which he’s been on since 2008.
However, while the studio is citing conflicting schedules, many outlets are reporting that the issue was actually money-related. Hunnam was reportedly only going to make $125,000 for the film. To compare that to a similar book-to-movie adaptation, Robert Pattinson made $2 million for the first “Twilight” film.
Rumors are also swirling that the actor may have dropped out of the film for other reasons such as “creative differences” and the pressure to live up to the character of Christian Grey.
Regardless of the reason for his exit, production is supposed to start in three weeks and this much-anticipated film is now missing a lead actor.
Kerry Washington Set To Host ‘SNL’
It was announced this week that actress Kerry Washington is going to host “Saturday Night Live” on November 2.
The announcement came right in the middle SNL’s own ‘scandal’ after being called out for its lack of diversity. The controversy is specifically centered on the lack of African-American women on the show’s cast.
We’re used to seeing the “Scandal” star in dramatic roles, so it should be interesting to see her in the comedy arena. After 38 years, the show has had only four women of color on the cast and Washington will be the ninth woman of color to guest-host the show.
The musical guest for the evening will be rapper Eminem.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Tie The Knot
Actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are officially married after six years together.
Bell and Shepard made news in recent years after revealing that they didn’t want to get married until marriage was legal for all couples (In case you missed the big news earlier this year, the U.S Supreme Court declared the federal Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional).
The couple have one child together, a six month old daughter named Lincoln.
Sandra Bullock: Actor Turned Rapper?
We all know that Sandra Bullock is a fan of hip-hop (See: this scene from “The Proposal”), so seeing her show off her rap skills isn’t anything new.
But, it’s hilarious, so we keep watching her do it over and over again.
This week while the actress was promoting her new film “Gravity” on a British talk show, she was persuaded to rap the lyrics to the song “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugarhill Gang. Bullock admitted that she originally learned the lyrics when trying to impress a high school crush.
