With a space four times as large as last year’s, Tiger Bites was bigger than ever this year. Students were able to taste free samples from 16 vendors located on campus and the surrounding Baton Rouge area and get information on what each buisnes had to offer.
Hosted by Student Media, Tiger Bites brought in 750 people within the first 45 minutes to the UREC and within the hour reached 1,000 students.
“College students love free food,” said Nicole Slack, marketing senior and events cooridantor for Student Media.
Izzo’s Illegal Burrito, Mugshots Grill and Bar, Raising Cane’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, just to name a few, were all in attendance giving away free food samples. This event offered a great marketing tool to the vendors to be able to reach out to college students, Slack said.
Free food wasn’t the only thing on the menu at Tiger Bites.
Free three-day gym memberships, giftcards, hats and T-shirts were all given to students from various vendors.
