Amy Reynolds, associate dean for graduate studies and research, will replace Bob Mann as director for the Reilly Center for Media and Public Affairs starting Jan. 1, said Manship School of Mass Communication Dean Jerry Ceppos.
Mann announced he would be stepping down to focus on writing and teaching earlier this month.
Out of the three applicants, Reynolds was chosen because she posseses a strong academic background as well as professional news experience and the ability to execute projects, Ceppos said.
Reynolds said she is excited about her role because she always had an interest in media and political public affairs.
Reynolds will continue to function as associate dean as well as Director of the Reilly Center until a replacement is found for the dean position.
Ceppos said he has not decided yet whether the new associate dean will be a promotion from within the school or an outside hire.
