Idris Elba Reveals Son He Thought He Fathered Wasn’t His
During an interview in the latest issue of GQ, actor Idris Elba opened up about a “tragic” time in his life.
In 2010, Elba publicly expressed how excited he was to be having a second child while promoting his film, “The Losers.” The baby boy would have been his second child.
After people around the actor began telling him that something wasn’t right, Elba decided to take a paternity test to see if the rumors were true.
”It wasn’t immediately obvious—well, it was, because he didn’t look like me,” he said. “But it wasn’t immediately obvious what had gone down.”
Despite how torn up he was, Elba added that the blow he took only made him stronger.
“To be given that and then have it taken away so harshly,” he recalled, “was like taking a full-on punch in the face: POW…But I wasn’t knocked out. I stood right the f–k back up, and I ain’t aiming to take another punch in the face ever again. Do you understand what I’m saying? It happened to me. I moved on.”
Cory Monteith Tribute at the Emmys Causes Controversy
Despite the fact that the Emmys have not even happened yet, the show is already causing controversy.
Producers of the award show announced this week that they would be doing their regular In Memorium montage to celebrate those who passed this year, but five figureswould also receive individual tributes. The tributes will be for: James Gandolfini (The Sopranos), Gary David Goldberg (Family Ties producer), Cory Monteith (Glee), Jean Stapleton (All in the Family) and Jonathan Winters (Smurfs).
Many are upset that Monteith is being honored in a separate tribute because there are other actors who passed this year that acted for decades; namely Larry Hagman (Dallas).
“No matter what we do, there will be people who feel we had other options and could have done other things,” said executive producer Ken Ehrlich.
Erlich added that the producers’ decision was partly based on trying to reach the younger generation that made up Monteith’s fanbase.
“It was a rather personal choice,” he said. “Cory’s appeal was to maybe a little different generation than some of the others we were honoring. In all candor, this became a producer’s option, and we selected these five individuals knowing that there were certainly others that could have been treated this way.”
Monteith died at 31 after a drug overdose in a Canadian hotel room in July. While his credits aren’t extensive, his character Finn Hudson was a favorite on FOX’s show, “Glee.” The actor quickly became a fan favorite after the show premiered in 2009.
Elephant and Dog BFFs Make Everything Better
There’s nothing like a happy story about cute animals to cheer up anyone’s day.
Here’s the story of Bella (the dog) and Bubbles (the elephant): an elephant and a dog that just happen to be best friends.
Bubbles was adopted as an orphan after her family was killed by poachers and Bella was also rescued after being abandoned by her owner as a puppy. The video also mentions that they first bonded over their love for playing in the water.
See for yourself in this adorable video of their friendship that went viral this week:
