LSU football’s fall camp is underway, and the media got its first look at the squad in action on Monday morning.
The offense focused on receiving as players ran through a gauntlet of sorts and catching balls coming from both directions.
The defense spent its time working on shedding blockers and getting to the ball carrier.
Freshman linebacker Kendell Beckwith stood out on both sides of the football, dominating in tackling drills and showing great hands in the receiving gauntlet.
Fellow freshman tight end DeSean Smith also had an impressive outing, showing great potential as a receiving tight end, a piece LSU has lacked in recent years.
Junior defensive tackles Ego Ferguson, Anthony Johnson and Jermauria Rasco were featured on the first team.
Rasco and sophomore cornerback Jalen Mills was sporting a green jersey, indicating he was to receive no contact.
