It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… you know the rest. Warner Brothers presents “Man of Steel,” a modern take on the Superman classic. Clark Kent grew up in Kansas with his adopted parents (Kevin Costner) and (Diane Lane) while never fitting in. After discovering his inhuman powers, he searches for answers. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Lois Lane (Amy Adams) pieces together his past in hopes of discovering whom Kent really is. As Kent learns of his mysterious past, he soon discovers he must defend earth against General Zod (Michael Shannon). The film’s prelude to what happened on Kent’s home planet was unnecessary. At times, character roles are exaggerated, and the dialogue can get theatrical. You feel every second of the two hours and 28 minutes. But the last hour-and-a-half is action packed. It’s a must see.
