University student arrested for vehicular burglary
On March 14, LSUPD officers arrested Alexander Don Inabet, 20, of 544 Lloyd Lane, for stealing a student’s parking pass, Lalonde said.
Officers were first contacted in November 2013 by a complainant who said her parking pass was taken from her vehicle.
On March 14, LSU Parking and Transportation Services employees contacted LSUPD after they discovered an illegally parked car containing the victim’s stolen parking pass, Lalonde said.
LSUPD investigators contacted the owner of the vehicle, Inabet, who admitted to stealing the parking pass in order to avoid purchasing his own, Lalonde said.
Inabet was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for vehicular burglary.
Man unaffiliated with University arrested for 28 counts of criminal damage to property
On March 14, LSU Police Department officers arrested David Clark Stiltner, 19, of 6011 Doubletree, for breaking the side mirrors off of 28 cars over a year’s time, causing more than $1,000 of property damage, said LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde.
On Feb. 20, LSUPD received four reports claiming multiple car mirrors were recently broken in the area of McVoy Hall.
One of the victims informed LSUPD of a viral video featuring a suspect committing similar crimes, Lalonde said.
LSUPD investigators contacted one of the people featured in the video, who said he witnessed Stiltner commiting the crimes on Feb 20. The witness also said Stiltner described previous occasions where he committed the same crime on LSU’s campus, Lalonde said.
Stiltner did not cooperate with LSUPD investigators at the time of his questioning, Lalonde said.
Stiltner was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 28 counts of criminal property damage.
University student issued misdemeanor summons for criminal damage to fraternity house
On March 13, at 1:45 a.m., LSUPD officers arrested Pedro Aviles-Hernandez, 22, of Concord Hill Circle, Anchorage, Alaska, for breaking the front window of the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity house, Lalonde said.
Members of the fraternity contacted LSUPD officers after an unknown male suspect repeatedly hit the glass on the front door of the house until it broke, Lalonde said.
Residents of the fraternity house were able to provide investigators with a description of the suspect and the vehicle the suspect drove away in.
Officers later identified a vehicle matching the given description in the parking lot of Blake Hall, Lalonde said.
The driver of the vehicle, Aviles-Hernandez, admitted to officers he broke the window when questioned, Lalonde said.
Aviles-Hernandez was issued a misdemeanor summons for criminal damage to property.
