A week after announcing he will travel to New Hampshire, home of the nation’s first presidential primary election, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal pulled just 2 percent of votes in the Conservative Political Action Conference’s annual straw poll for the Republican nomination.
The poll asked a sample of around 2,500 conservative activists and politicians to name their top choice for the Republican nominee in the next presidential race.
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul led the poll for the second year running, rising to 31 percent from last year’s tally of 25 percent. Jindal’s 2 percent share puts him in a tie for 10th place with former Republican candidates Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

He lamented the suspension on free speech terms. “It’s a messed-up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended,” he said in a statement Thursday.
