Grade: C+
Liam Neeson seems to be another victim of success in Hollywood. The once Oscar nominated actor returns to the silver screen with his yearly dollop of action movie mindlessness, this time called “Non-Stop.” Though this movie is less boring than others in recent years, “Non-Stop” offers nothing that has not been seen before. The film tries to be “Rope” or “Strangers on a Train” and ends up being closer to 2010’s disappointing “Devil.” Neeson is a great actor whose talents are woefully underused in generic action movies like this. Hopefully, the same fate will not befall the incredibly talented Lupita Nyong’o, who is no doubt being offered a lot of easy roles on the heels of her Oscar victory. “Non-Stop” failed to impress where it should have trilled. It is a great task to limit an almost two hour movie to one room, and unfortunately this film feels incredibly claustrophobic.
