Local rapper Torrence “Lil Boosie” Hatch was released from Louisiana State Penitentiary Wednesday night, following his incarceration for drug charges. In 2012, Boosie was found not guilty of murder.
Shortly after the release, the rapper started trending on Twitter while Boosie’s label retweeted “LIL BOOSIE IS FREE!!!!!” Local bars were quick to get in on the action, with Bogie’s Bar declaring Wednesday a Boosie release party, and tweeting “All Boosie All Night!”
The release follows uncertainty after mixed reports were released about Boosie’s expected release date. A news conference is scheduled for Monday, with Boosie set to speak in New Orleans to various media outlets.
