The Southeastern Conference office named senior second baseman Allison Falcon SEC Player of the Week Monday morning. The award comes after a weekend in which Falcon played a key part in the Tigers’ series victory against No. 2 Tennessee.
After losing five consecutive games, LSU showed resurgence last week going 3-1 including taking two of three from Tennessee. Falcon was a key component, tallying a home run, four runs batted in and a .800 on-base percentage in their wins, and she had a hit in all four contests.
Her best performance came in LSU’s 8-4 victory against Tennessee Saturday, with the Donaldsonville native going 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBIs.
This is the third conference award for the Tigers this season, with freshman pitchers Baylee Corbello and Kelsee Selman winning SEC freshman of the week and SEC pitcher of the week respectively. The award is also the first of Falcon’s career.
Falcon and the Tigers will return to the field when they play McNeese St. Wednesday night, and will return to conference play with a three-game series against Georgia starting Friday.
