UPDATE 05/01/14 6:35 P.M.– After the second takeoff attempt of its flight to College Station failed, the LSU baseball team is headed back to campus and will practice, according to coach Paul Mainieri.
Mainieri said the team will try another flight later this evening to College Station.
The mechanical issue was reportedly fixed around 6:15 p.m. and the LSU baseball team was set for departure to College Station, according to Mainieri.
“They had to reset the [wing] flaps,” Mainieri said in a text message. “We should be taking off in a few minutes. Looks like we are ok to go.”

The LSU baseball team’s flight to College Station was forced to land after about 10 minutes in the air, coach Paul Mainieri said Thursday.
“A little scary,” Mainieri said in a text message. “We had a problem with the flaps and had to return to Baton Rouge.”
Mainieri said a mechanic was en route to look at the plane and he was unsure whether the Tigers would board another flight. The team was scheduled to practice at Blue Bell Park at 6:15 p.m.
