Former LSU pitcher Cody Glenn confirmed to The Daily Reveille in a text message Monday night that he will transfer from LSU to Lipscomb for his senior season.
Glenn’s father, Greg Glenn, was appointed head of school at the private, liberal arts college in April. Glenn’s mother Loa is also a Lipscomb graduate.
A lanky, junk-throwing southpaw, Glenn was 7-3 with a 2.68 ERA in 2013 and opponents hit only .244 against him.
Glenn was suspended for last season’s regional after a violation of team rules, but was reinstated before the super regional and College World Series. He started the Tigers’ game against North Carolina in Omaha, lasting only two innings and giving up three of the Tar Heels’ four runs.
This season, Glenn never returned to form, making only 13 appearances and seven starts. He finished the season with a 5.51 ERA, allowing 20 earned runs in 32 2/3 innings pitched.
Freshmen Dakota Dean and Jarret DeHart will also transfer from LSU, coach Paul Mainieri confirmed Monday.
DeHart had two extra base hits in two starts this season while Dean did not record a hit in any of his plate appearances. Dean is the younger brother of former LSU standout Blake Dean, who is now an assistant coach at UNO.
