LSU spokesperson Michael Bonnette has confirmed that LSU special teams coach Thomas McGaughey has left the Tigers to join the New York Jets.

The news comes after a successful national signing day for LSU.
ESPN.com’s Jets beat writer reported the team identified McGaughey as their man more than a week ago, but agreed to delay the announcement so it wouldn’t hurt LSU’s recruiting efforts.
LSU scored six special teams touchdowns in three seasons under McGaughey.
