The LSU Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night near West Campus Apartments.
LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde said they received a report at 8 p.m. on Wednesday claiming an armed robbery took place on Aster Street just north of West Campus Apartments.
The suspect stole a wallet and cellphone from the victim, a University student, who suffered a scratch to his face after being struck by the suspect’s fist.
The victim described the suspect as a 5-foot-10-inch male weighing approximately 180 pounds. The victim also said the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with dark pants and carried a handgun, Lalonde said.
The suspect fled the scene in a car with an unidentified driver. The victim described it as a “green or grey vehicle, possibly a 2005-07 Toyota Camry, driven by a second suspect,” Lalonde said.
The vehicle was last spotted leaving campus headed eastbound on Aster Street.
There are currently no details on the getaway driver.
Lalonde said police are searching for the two suspects and the incident remains under investigation.
