Grade: C-
Bleeding Rainbow trickled into the music scene last January with the experimental lo-fi indie rock release “Yeah Right.” The band followed that album this week with “Interrupt,” a more traditional and polished effort that unfortunately lacks the quirky charm that made its debut so refreshing. The band uses two vocalists, Rob Garcia and Sarah Everton, to produce waves of soft nostalgia reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine on almost every song on “Interrupt.” This is fine, and the band could certainly do worse than emulate one of the greatest bands of the 20th century, but everything else on “Interrupt” seems recycled from another band, and the product is a bland amalgamation of old noises devoid of sincerity. “Interrupt” isn’t bad, but it’s not really worth listening to.
