LSU junior Rheagan Courville has been named the Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week for her performances in last weekend’s Metroplex Challenge, the league announced Tuesday.
In last Saturday’s quad meet, Courville posted a career-high tying score of 39.750 and walked away with the meet’s all-around title, her fifth of the season. Her score is also tied for the highest of any gymnast in the nation this season.
Courville’s vault performance was one of the meet’s highlights, as the Baton Rouge native scored a perfect 10.0 in the event for the second time in her collegiate career.
She also scored a 9.875 on bars, 9.950 on beam, and 9.925 on floor.
Courville’s contributions led LSU to a final team score of 197.875, the highest in program history.
