The starting quarterback job at a powerhouse football program comes with its ups and downs.
LSU sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings experienced the downs this week after the Tigers 17-0 loss to Arkansas on Saturday.
A number of fans voiced their displeasure of LSU’s 123-yard offensive performance to Jennings on Twitter, and one even threatened his life.
“To those people who do that, they obviously need to reevaluate how they think of themselves and maybe they should pull for a different team,” said senior fullback Connor Neighbors. “We don’t need any of that, we don’t want any of that. If you’re going to be with us, you have to be with us through thick and thin.”
Jennings himself said he hadn’t even heard about the threat until someone called him and told him about it.
“It doesn’t really affect me at all,” Jennings said. “There’s no reason to buy into any of that. It’s just the people in the building that really matter.”
