The 2014-2015 basketball season is officially here, and, with a new season, comes a new opportunity for the tigers to bring home that championship.
The lady tigers have taken down their opponents in both of their exhibition games.
“I like that we’re gonna be a running team,” LSU Lady Tigers Basketball Head Coach Nikki Caldwell said. “I like the fact that we are mobile, and our post game can get up and down the floor as quickly as our guard play.”
The LSU men’s basketball team has not disappointed Tiger fans with its performance in the exhibition game, and the players are ready for their first game on Saturday.
“I think that good teams that go from good to great are the ones that are capable of doing that night in and night out,” LSU Tigers Men’s Basketball Head Coach Johnny Jones said.
Under Coach Jones, men’s basketball made it to the final four in 2006. Coach Caldwell took over the Lady Tigers basketball team in 2011, and they made it to the sweet 16 in 2013.
“If I’m starting or if I’m not starting, you better be ready when you get your name called,” Lady Tigers Basketball Player Stephanie Amichia said. “Coach Nikki tells us all the time, be ready. Those are two words that I’ll always remember.”
Our Lady Tigers will play their first official game against Arkansas-Little Rock on Friday at 11:30 a.m.. The men’s basketball team will play on Saturday at 12 p.m. against Gardner-Webb University.
