In a letter addressed to LSU football coach Les Miles, David LaCerte, secretary in the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, asked for senior defensive back Luke Boyd to play in the final regular season game against Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night.
Boyd, who served in Afghanistan for the United States Marine Corps. in 2010, is yet to play in any game for the Tigers as a walk-on.
