Weeks before the Nov. 4 election, Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District candidates will face off in a debate at the 6th Congressional District Candidates Forum Luncheon today, hosted by Leaders With Vision.
The panel of various journalists representing different constituents will question participating candidates in the Drusilla Place Ballroom.
Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District contains the state capital of Baton Rouge and proceeds south to Houma and the western borders of Lake Pontchartrain. It’s currently represented by Republican Bill Cassidy.
Candidates at the debate include Dan Claitor, Paul Dietzel II, Edwin Edwards, Garret Graves, Craig McCulloch, and Charles “Trey” Thomas. Lenar Whitney will not be present due to a scheduling conflict.
LWVision President Jean Armstrong said the event is being held to educate voters and inform the community to develop a better quality of life for everyone in the 6th District.
“The expectation is for outreach to promote an informed and more inclusive community and perhaps to attract some new members to Leaders With Vision,” Armstrong said.
