BBC Popup is traveling across the country, visiting six cities in six months. And this month, they will be in Baton Rouge.
They came to LSU on October 7th to ask LSU students what stories are important to them to be covered. They believe that the best way to find out what stories are important in each city is by asking the people that live there.
Students already gave them story ideas such as problems with racism, the environment, southern culture and sports. Matt Danzico, a member of BBC Popup led the discussion on Tuesday.
“They’re about whatever the people want them to be,” Danzico, said.
While in Baton Rouge, BBC Popup also want to help aspiring journalists at LSU. Danzico was joined by his coworkers Benjamin Zand and Anna Bressanin.
“We want to teach them to have a voice” Zand said.
Students will have a chance to work with BBC Popup throughout the month of October.
