The LSU Women’s Center held an event called Survivors Speak Out with survivors of sexual and physical abuse could share their stories with other victims and supporters.
They are trying to make this an annual event so women survivors can always have a safe place to open up and will no longer have to stay silent.
“It shouldn’t be a taboo subject” said Alexis Wilson of the Women’s Center.
The Women’s Center is trying to help survivors overcome their abuse and make sure they’re not ashamed to share their stories.
