Young Thug is a hip-hop artist from Atlanta, Georgia who is currently receiving a lot of attention in the music world. Since the release of his first mixtape series in 2011, Young Thug has gone on to work with other notable hip-hop artists like Gucci Maine, Birdman, Juicy J, T.I., and more. Born by the name Jeffrey Williams on August 9, 1992, Young Thug grew up in the Jonesboro South Projects of Atlanta. It was here that he developed his rapping skills and unique style. Thug is known for being very eccentric. Pitchfork called his rap style “extraordinarily distinctive,” mainly because his verses are usually full of slurs, shouts, and other strange noises that you typically do not hear from most rappers.
