The LSU football is locked in 17-14 battle after two quarters against Florida.
LSU freshman running back Leonard Fournette has carried the LSU offense through the first two quarters. The game’s leading rusher has 85 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
The Gators opened the scoring on senior Andre Debose’s 62 yard punt return that gave the Gators a 7-0 lead halfway through the first quarter.
The Tigers answered after junior linebacker Kwon Alexander striped Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel. Senior defensive end Jemauria Rasco caught the fumble and returned it to the Florida 32 yard line.
On the second play of the drive, Fournette carried up for 12 yards powering through a defender and scoring to tie the game at seven.
But Driskel responded to the fumble, leading the Gators on an eight-play 75-yard touchdown drive. During the drive, the Gator quarterback picked up a fourth down conversion before capping off the drive himself with a nine-yard touchdown run.
Florida added a field goal to put them up 17-7 with 11 minutes to go in the half.
But LSU picked up a fourth down conversion of their own on fourth and goal from inside the Florida one-yard line. Kenny Hilliard took a toss into the end zone to bring LSU within three points of the Gators.
