From Indian Lakes, a band from just outside Yosemite National Park, California, released their third album, Absent Sounds, on October 7th, 2014. After seeing From Indian Lakes live in 2012, their previous album Able Bodies became a fast favorite of mine, so I was anticipating the release of this album for quite some time. Though Absent Sounds is much lighter and softer than the dark, almost haunting Able Bodies, it does not disappoint. Absent Sounds is comprised of 10 beautiful, majestic songs that flow effortlessly together. Front man Joey Vannucchi’s hushed voice croons from track to track, transporting you to a place of peace and serenity for entirety of the album.
I, for one, am more than stoked to hear the album live on November 22 at the House of Blues in New Orleans.
