Male booked for solicitation of prostitution on Sorority Row
LSUPD arrested Joshua Fino Monday, Sept. 22, after a complainant reported Fino allegedly asking for sexual favors from a female University student. Fino, of Prairieville, Louisiana, was allegedly soliciting in front of the University’s Press Building on W. Lakeshore Drive.
LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde said the complainant told officers Fino was holding a $20 bill in hand when he requested the sexual favor.
Officers identified Fino after the complainant offered a suspect description. They located him shortly after, Lalonde said.
Fino was arrested and brought to LSUPD Headquarters, Lalonde said, before he was booked into East Baton Rouge Prison for solicitation of prostitution.
Lalonde said Fino has yet to be released.
Student faces assault charges for sending threatening message to dorm room neighbor
Julianna Crozier, 18, allegedly slipped a threatening message beneath her neighbor’s door in Miller Hall Saturday, Sept. 27.
Lalonde said the message contained threats of bodily harm to the victim. However, Crozier claimed the threat was meant as a joke.
Lalonde said officers were dispatched to the residential hall after being contacted by an eyewitness who allegedly saw Crozier delivering the note.
After some investigations, LSUPD confirmed Crozier as a suspect Sunday, Sept. 28.
She was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for simple assault. Lalonde said she was later released by LSUPD.
Man arrested for sexual battery of a juvenile at tailgate
Police arrested Daniel Sanchez Wednesday, Sept. 24, for sexual battery of a juvenile.
Lalonde said Sanchez, of Gonzales, inappropriately touched a 16-year-old female while she was sleeping in her family’s RV after tailgating Saturday, Sept. 20.
Sanchez, a family friend, was also sleeping in the RV, Lalonde said.
LSUPD officers were called to a Gonzales hospital Sunday, Sept. 21, in reference to the alleged sexual assault. Officers spoke with the victim and her mother, Lalonde said, and learned Sanchez had allegedly engaged in similar sexual activity with the victim the previous game day, Saturday, Sept. 13.
Details from the victim and her mother allowed LSUPD to obtain an arrest warrant for Sanchez Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Lalonde said police located and arrested Sanchez at his Gonzales home.
Sanchez was arrested on two counts of sexual battery and two counts on indecent behavior with a juvenile. Lalonde said, Sanchez was booked into East Baton Rouge Prison, and has yet to be released.
