LSU senior outfielder Chris Sciambra has joined the football team as a placekicker, according to the school’s official website.
Sciambra, who was a kicker at Catholic High School, will wear No. 24. He was not listed on the travel roster for the Tigers 28-24 victory against Wisconsin.
Sciambra joins sophomore starter Colby Delahoussaye and freshmen Kyle Pfau and Cameron Gamble at the position. Gamble kicked off five times in the Tigers’ win against the Badgers.
Primarily a reserve outfielder for Paul Mainieri’s baseball Tigers last season, Sciambra hit .265 in 23 starts in 2013.
