“They treat you like family.”
That’s a saying that could be used often around Laura Robbins and Jennifer Correa, the mother-daughter team behind women’s clothing and accessories boutique Impeccable Pig.
“They’re the nicest people you could ever meet in your entire life,” said store manager Carol Massey.
Impeccable Pig originated in Dallas, Texas, and has grown to 15 locations, including one at Perkins Rowe that opened Aug. 16. Massey said five more stores are also in the works, including a New Orleans store set to open in February 2015.
Impeccable Pig provides trendy clothing and accessories from $30 to $150. Massey said their primary clientele is women from ages 15 to 30, and the clothing at the boutique offers options for every body type, so customers don’t walk out discouraged.
But most importantly, Impeccable Pig won’t rob your wallet. Massey said she wants young women to walk into the store and find an outfit for any occasion without dropping an entire paycheck.
Massey said the clothing and accessories showcase a wide range of options and most of the inventory is exclusive to Impeccable Pig. The jewelry brand Dogeared, for example, is displayed in the center of the store. While the designer can be found in its own personal online shop, Massey said no boutique other than Impeccable Pig carries this jewelry line.
The boutique also supports local designers, including Mary P. Lamb, a Lafayette jewelry designer.
Massey works to ensure the clothing options are as exclusive as possible.
Ruth Reyna, a sales lead at Impeccable Pig, said they tailor the store to locals to provide the best product to customers.
Impeccable Pig’s headquarters allows Massey to pick and choose some of the inventory for the store. Massey said
that when the boutique first opened, there was a large amount of clothing in The University of Alabama’s school colors, so she asked the district manager for more purple and gold in its next shipment.
The store’s district manager is from the Baton Rouge area, so she is in tune with the needs of the community, Massey said.
With the new shipments, shoppers can find a purple and gold dress appropriate for game days and purple jeans by the brand Flying Monkey.
“We’re the only store in the country that carries Flying Monkey purple jeans,” Massey said.
She said the store started with four clothing racks of the purple jeans, but now are down to two because they sell so well.
Massey said shopping at Impeccable Pig is a “personal experience from start to finish,” and she makes sure all of her associates are well-rounded. The boutique’s employees try on every garment to know how the item looks on their own body shape. Massey said this technique helps the employees guide customers to garments that will flatter them and make them feel confident.
Hallie Dauterive, an Impeccable Pig employee, said she likes working at the boutique because she can help people discover their own style and what looks good on them.
Impeccable Pig’s stores exercise the family and community philosophy of owners Robbins and Correa.
“We make sure you leave happy,” Massey said.
