In the midst of a legal battle, LSU Alumni Association president and CEO Charlie Roberts resigned his post after former employee Kay Heath filed suit against Roberts and the Alumni Association.
In thr suit, Heath alleges she and Roberts had a “sexual relationship.” When she resigned because of their affair Roberts agreed to pay her $3,200 per month for life.
According to the suit, Health’s payments reduced and stopped before the sexual relationship ended. Heath filed suit in the 19th Judicial District Court August 1.
After Heath filed suit, Roberts took his annual leave from the non-profit. Wednesday afternoon, the association accepted his resignation.
In his resignation letter Roberts said Heath is determined to ruin the Association
“However, I cannot stand by and let my continued active employment be a magnet for her obvious determination to destroy the Association,” said Roberts’ letter.
His letter says he aims to minimize harm to the Association by stepping down.
