LSU men’s basketball players Jordan Mickey and Jarrell Martin have both been named to Athlon Sports’ All-Sophomore teams for the 2014-15 season.
Mickey was named to the first team while Martin was named to the third.
Mickey was one of four SEC sophomores named to the first team joining Andrew and Aaron Harrison of Kentucky and Bobby Portis of Arkansas.
“Mickey joined exclusive company by becoming only the second player in LSU history with 100 blocked shots in a season. The other is Shaquille O’Neal. After averaging 12.9 points and 7.9 rebounds, Mickey will team with fellow sophomore Jarell Martin for what could be the SEC’s best frontcourt duo,” said Athlon sports in a press release.
Mickey joined former LSU Tiger Johnny O’Bryant III as a first-team All-SEC selection in 2014.
Martin finished the 2013-14 season averaging 10.3 points and 4.6 rebounds a game.
