Ariana Grande’s reign over pop radio may bring one to assume that her new album, “My Everything,” would be filled with generic melodies, but the latest release from Grande is a surprising move in the right direction.
As opposed to her first album, “Yours Truly,” Grande delves deeper into an urban/R&B sound which suits her smooth voice. Grande has also increased the number of features on this album with half of the songs featuring other artists. While collaborations with artists like The Weeknd and Big Sean add spice to her songs, it would be nice to see Grande shine without the help of other artists since all of her singles thus far have had features.
Overall, the album is a great listen – Grade: A-
