The LSU women’s tennis team’s match against Rice on Friday fell victim to a week impacted by Mother Nature, getting postponed to a date yet to be determined.
But the Lady Tigers’ match against SMU scheduled for Sunday at Northwood Club is set for noon.
Last week, the Tigers participated in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Coral Gables, Fla. In a nice effort, the Tigers tallied both a win and a loss on the weekend.
LSU defeated the University of South Florida 4-1 last Friday and lost to tournament host Miami the next day 4-0.
Despite the loss, LSU head coach Julia Shell said she was proud of the way her team competed.
While LSU will remain idle until SMU, the Mustangs will host Texas Tech the day before facing the Lady Tigers.
SMU is 1-1 on the young season, beating Stephen F. Austin in the season opener and later losing to Northwestern.
