UPDATE 12:15 PM 1/15/2014: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated police found the driver after they had left the scene of the crime. The driver did not flee the scene and was not charged in this incident. 
Brittney Griese’s name was also mispelled as “Brittany.”

Around midnight on Jan. 15, Brittney Griese,21, of 20036 La Trace Road, was struck by a 2007 Toyota Tundra while walking home from Brightside Bar and Grill, said Baton Rouge Police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean Mckneely.
Griese was pronounced dead at the scene.
When officers tested the 21-year-old driver they discovered he was not intoxicated, Mckneely said. The driver wasn’t charged and released. 
An autopsy is being conducted to determine if Griese was intoxicated, he added.
It is not believed that either person was a University Student. The investigation is still ongoing.
