LSU sophomore running back Jeremy Hill is leaning toward returning to school for his junior season, The Advocate reported late Monday.
Hill, who rushed for 1,401 yards this season and garnered MVP honors of the Outback Bowl victory against Iowa, is draft-eligible as a sophomore since he did not play in his true freshman season.
The Baton Rouge native and Redemptorist graduate ran for 216 yards and two touchdowns against the Hawkeyes, capping off a sophomore campaign that started in turmoil.
Hill was suspended indefinitely by coach Les Miles in April after an altercation outside Reggie’s Bar. Hill pleaded guilty to simple battery and was reinstated to the team during fall practice in August.
Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to declare for the NFL Draft and LSU junior defensive tackles Ego Ferguson and Anthony Johnson have already announced their intentions to leave school.
Fellow juniors Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry have reportedly declared for the Draft, but no official confirmation has been given.
