On a typical Tuesday, you’ll find a group of people surrounded outside of Mike the Tiger’s habitat. Mike has many friends from both on and off campus. Chris Asche even came all the way from Iowa to visit LSU’s favorite furry friend.
Sadly, there are only about 32,000 tigers like Mike left in the wild. The Tigers 4 Tigers club on campus is trying to improve that number by educating the community on big cats and fundraising for them.
The Tigers 4 Tigers club supports the Big Cats and Public Safety Protection Act Bill. The bill protects big cats and makes sure that they are in accredited establishments such as: zoos, research facilities and educational institutions.
